Abstract: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕೇಸರಿ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ ಗಂಗಾಧರರಾವ್ ದೇಶಪಾಂಡೆಯವರು ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಹಾನ್ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ, ಬಾಲಗಂಗಾಧರ ತಿಲಕರ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ಸ್ವದೇಶಿ ಚಳುವಳಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಂ ರೂಲ್ ಚಳುವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದವರು. ನಾಡಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಗಣೇಶ ಉತ್ಸವ, ಶಿವಾಜಿ ಜಯಂತಿ, ಬಸವ ಜಯಂತಿಗಳ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿ ತುಂಬಿದರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿವೇಶನ ನಡೆಯಲು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣೀಭೂತರಾದ ಇವರು ಖಾದಿ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ದೇಶದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ದುಮುಖುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಹುದಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದವರು. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ರೂವಾರಿಗಳು ಗಂಗಾಧರರಾವ್ ದೇಶಪಾಂಡೆ.
